Deuce Out for Season

Saints Fall to 2-3
After winning their "home" opener against Buffalo, the Saints fall below .500 after a demoralizing 52-3 loss at the hands of those stinky cheeseheads, the Green Bay Packers. That puts them at the bottom of the NFC South with a crucial game against divisional rivals Atlanta coming up next week.

Worse still, starting running back Deuce McCallister is out for the season after suffering a torn ACL in his right knee during Sunday's loss. Backup Aaron Stecker has turned in some good games filling in for Deuce, and started splitting more time with him of late. But Deuce, who ranked among the NFL elite in number or carries last season, will be sorely missed.

In breaking news, the Saints have acquired RB Jesse Chatman in a trade with the Miami Dolphins for a future conditional draft pick. Miami is the same team that the Saints traded with to get Deuce McCallister, unloading one Ricky Williams.

Conan: U2 Edition

Late Night with Conan O'Brien aired a special U2 episode last night. After a brief intro and a pre-recorded man-on-the-street piece with Conan interviewing fans waiting in line for tickets, Conan threw straight to U2 who opened with "All Because of You."

Next up, "In the Year 2000: The Edge Edition." The Edge was a little intense at first. At one point Conan threw him a sideways glance and mocked his jerky, robotic head movements after delivering a line. Bono got in on the act at the end of the piece.

Bono, Edge, Adam, and Larry sat down for an interview and were treated to a series of doctored photos showing them with Flock of Seagulls hairdos and in their "fat years."

U2 returned to the stage with "Origin of the Species" from How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb. Then Bono had a one-on-one session with Conan. Topics included Bono's recent Nobel Peace Prize nomination. The band closed out the show with Bono & Edge doing an acoustic rendition of "Stuck in a Moment You Can't Get Out Of." Adam and Larry joined them for the coda of that song and then "Vertigo."
